Course Description

The B.Pharm is a graduate level degree course that provides a strong base for developing as a professional in various spectrum of pharma industry including manufacturing & pharmacy practice. The Holy Grace Academy started the B.Pharm program from the academic year 2019 onwards.

The B. Pharm Course is a four-year program (semester) program preparing graduates with intellectual knowledge and understanding of the practice of pharmacy.

Course Approvals

B. Pharm course offered at Holy Grace Academy of Pharmacy is Approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) & AICTE and is affiliated to KUHS.

Admission

  • 1. Academic Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations of the Government of Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Biology/Maths/Biotechnology or Computer Science as optional subjects. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for the optional subjects and 50% marks aggregate for all the 3 subjects put together. However candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from outside the state of Kerala shall produce the certificate of recognition and equivalency of qualifying examination from Kerala University of Health Science, Thrissur. This should be furnished at the time of admission. Eligibility for admission to the candidates belonging to OBC, OEC, SC/ST will be as per the requirements of the Kerala University of Health Science, Thrissur.

  • 2. Age Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31/07/2022 No upper age limit for B. Pharm course is applicable.

  • 3. Nationality Candidate must be a citizen of India

Course Details

The course of study for B.Pharm shall include the following core subjects as given in below.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis (Chemistry of Drugs)

Pharmaceutical chemistry is the study of drugs, and it involves drug development. This includes drug identification, absorption, metabolism, and more.

Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) into a medication to be used safely and effectively by patients. It is also called the science of dosage form design.

Pharmacology

Pharmacology is the branch of pharmaceutical sciences which is concerned with the study of drugs or medication action

Pharmacognosy

The subject of Pharmacognosy deals with drugs of natural sources viz. herbal drugs, cultivation methods, biotechnological methods, production of pharmaceutical herbal products and their evaluation.

Pharmacy Practice

The subject of Pharmacy Practice deals with Hospital, Clinical and Community Pharmacy. It provides an understanding of the processes involved in providing primary healthcare, drug information, and other clinical pharmacy services in different practice

Scope & Career

After successfully completing B.Pharm degree, the individual can practice as a registered pharmacist. Can work in pharma industry for manufacturing and marketing departments. Clinical research and other allied fields are also open to explore depending on the protentional and aptitude of the individual .
