Class Description

B. Pharm is an undergraduate academic degree to learn and acquire adequate knowledge necessary skills to practice the profession of pharmacy. The program is a versatile interdisciplinary program preparing graduates with sound knowledge and understanding of the science technology and practice of pharmacy. The Holy Grace Academy started the B.Pharm program from the academic year 2019 onwards.
The B. Pharm Course is a four-year program (8 semester) Program and the Selection is based on the marks secured in plus two and performance in the interview. It is a versatile program preparing graduates with intellectual knowledge and understanding of the practice of pharmacy.

 

Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis (Chemistry of Drugs)
Pharmaceutical chemistry is the study of drugs, and it involves drug development. This includes drug identification, absorption, metabolism, and more.

Pharmaceutics
Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) into a medication to be used safely and effectively by patients. It is also called the science of dosage form design.

Pharmacology
Pharmacology is the branch of pharmaceutical sciences which is concerned with the study of drugs or medication action

Pharmacognosy
The subject of Pharmacognosy deals with drugs of natural sources viz. herbal drugs, cultivation methods, biotechnological methods, production of pharmaceutical herbal products and their evaluation.

Pharmacy Practice
The subject of Pharmacy Practice deals with Hospital, Clinical and Community Pharmacy. It provides an understanding of the processes involved in providing primary healthcare, drug information, and other clinical pharmacy services in different practice

Admission & Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should have passed the higher secondary examinations of the Government of
    Kerala or any other course treated as equivalent to with Physics, Chemistry as compulsory
    subjects and Biology/Maths/Biotechnology or Computer Science as optional subjects.
  • Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for the optional subjects and
    50% marks aggregate for all the 3 subjects put together.
  • However candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from outside the state
    of Kerala shall produce the certificate of recognition and equivalency of qualifying
    examination from Kerala University of Health Science, Thrissur.
  • This should be furnished at the time of admission. Eligibility for admission to the
    candidates belonging to OBC, OEC, SC/ST will be as per the requirements of the Kerala
    University of Health Science, Thrissur.
